“These lies I wouldn’t listen to. You gotta find a way to push through, break through, burst through.”
LadyAthenae is a Canadian metalcore band that will take you on a musical journey switching between heavy vocals and light voices. Putting mental health front and center with their lyrics, their debut EP ‘Recollections’ was released on December 4th 2020.
Sergio: guitar, musical composition, producer, recording & mixing
Sergio started as a kid on the piano but it was not a great fit for him. Coming from a family of drummers, that was his next logical venture. In highschool, he picked up a guitar and never let it go.
What shaped his musical ears was: Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Linkin Park and System of A Down. These days he listens to various artists.
Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with plenty of friends from the Montreal scene but also international bands such as: Modern Day Babylon, Auras, The Algorithm and Mandroid Echostar.
He’s very happy with the producing side of where he is today – putting out a couple albums out and 2 EPs with multiple projects. He has one of his projects signed on label. He’s grateful for the different people he met along the way along with the friendships and partnerships that developed.
Right now, he’s working on 3 different projects: Our Souls Evolve, The Altruist and finally LadyAthenae!
Chris: drums & drum writing
As a young teen, Chris was introduced by his dad to The Police, Led Zeppelin, Guns N’ Roses, and U2. Those bands really inspired him to start playing the drums at 14 years old. Drumming became more serious for him these last 3 years.
Nowadays, the genres that influence him are as various as: metal, djent, ambient, latin rhythm and old and new R&B.
Throughout his career, he has been part of Our Souls Evolve with Sergio since the beginning. He has done shows with the band. He took a break at some point to explore some other styles but now he has been back in for the last 2 years.
Chris is currently working on Our Souls Evolve and LadyAthenae
Camille: vocals & lyric writing
Camille always loved to put on a show as a kid. Singing was her first love but for many years she let that passion aside.
This led her to a constant mental battle: deep despair was followed by euphoria. She was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in 2015.
In 2019, she decided to continue singing lessons. She’s been working everyday on her voice since.
She’s very grateful to have released her first EP and putting mental health front and center. This experience has been really cathartic and she’s hoping it will help others suffering as well.
Today she teaches harsh vocals to people all over the world.
